Common mistake

When you formulate your goals it is important to focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. This is a very common mistake many people do. Some people spend most of their time thinking of not wanting to smoke, instead of focusing on how they can stop smoking. Or that they cannot handle money properly. They talk, think and are preoccupied with their bad finances 24/7, instead of focusing on a strategy to improve it. The same goes for health, career and relationships. Instead you need to ask yourself: What do I want? How am I going to… ? Contrary to: How can I not be/have/do… ? Can you see the difference? Focus your attention on what you want, never the opposite. //Marianne

  1. It’s all in the wording, much like what happens with affirmations that even the VERB TENSE affects the outcome…so we should ask ourselves how we can achieve positive results instead of how to stop negative actions, right?! Is that how it goes? 🙂 thank you Marianne! Alexandra

  2. last year i painted so much that i injured my shoulder! one doctor ‘fixed’it via anti inflammatory meds, though after a month’s rest, i painted for two hours and the injury began to return. i visited a kinesiologist, and stated, ‘i would like for you to fix this, but more than that, i want to know why this is happening and how to stop it from happening again!’

    he worked magic on my shoulder in about ten minutes! i asked before leaving, ‘ok.. how long before i can resume painting? ‘ and he answered, ‘as soon as you’d like. you’re fixed. you won’t have any more problems unless you hurt yourself again.’

    many paintings later, i am still pain free!

    (he found where an old injury lower in my arm had thrown everything out of alignment… he repaired that and another area, and made a few adjustments, and ta-dah! – i’m pain free more than a year later!
