Attitude

“The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced… that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it”, Charles Swindoll. //Marianne

  1. So why is it so easy for some to choose to be positive and so difficult for others? The word ’embrace’ in the above quote does reflect how one approaches life’s challenges.
    Great food for thought!

    • Well, some of it’s our genes but most people don’t realize that we can actually train our brain just like we train our bodies. I like the “embrace” as well, :).

  2. Sometimes, based on the prior day, I realize that I must re-focus my attitude that might have been soured by, one circumstance or, another.
Should I maintain from the previous day, I only attract more of the same so, sometimes it is a forced issue worth forcing.

  3. So very true. We have a choice every single day.

  4. Trying to understand the difference between attitude and mood is something that came up in one of my students essays…she is writing an essay inspired by the quote: “You can’t direct the wind but you can adjust the sails”, isn’t this a lovely quote?! Read you soon, Alexandra
