Our brain is amazing, but it is not possible for it to multitask when it comes to paying attention. That is why it is not a good idea to talk on your mobile when you are driving, or playing angry bird while you are in a meeting. If your child wants to talk with you while you are cooking dinner, it might be better to take a 5-minute break and give them your full attention than cook and talk at the same time. The brain is even more amazing when we feed it with exercise, and all it takes is for you to exercise a couple of times a week. Going to the gym, walking, yoga or playing golf – it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that exercise boosts brainpower which helps us with our long-term memory, attention and problem solving. //Marianne

  1. This is a comforting post for me, as I often state, “I don’t multitask well!” to people who expect me to listen while I am painting or reading or driving in heavy traffic, etc while they are talking to me!

    I was out with friends last night, and someone pulled out little ‘ finger’ machine to test oxygen and pulse and such. my pulse was 61!

    he asked, “do you meditate?”

    i smiled.

    • Next time someone wants you to listen while you paint etc you just tell them; Don’t you know that it’s impossible for our brain to multitask when it comes to paying attention? Please, come back at 3 o’clock, :). 61 = wow!
